Exoprimal is a new Capcom game. It’s an action shooter featuring futuristic suits (Exosuits) as part of your arsenal, and hordes of dinosaurs as enemies. This title just released on July 13th and is available on Steam or through Xbox Gamepass.

Check out the official launch trailer for Exoprimal

Minimum Exoprimal PC Requirements

CPU (Central Processing Unit)Intel i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB VRAM) / AMD Radeon RX 560 (4GB VRAM)
RAM (System Memory)8 GB
Storage50 GB available space to install
Operating SystemWindows 10 Version 20H2 (64 bit)
Minimum Exoprimal PC requirements available on Steam store page.

The minimum Exoprimal PC requirements are luckily not that intense, and it won’t take the most expensive PC out there just to play this game. Many budget PCs and some older PCs should make the cut. This game requires at least Windows 10 to run.

Additional notes under the minimum Exoprimal PC requirements on the Steam store page give a performance estimate for these specs of 30 FPS at 1080p resolution with minimum graphics settings chosen, with possibility of some drops during graphics-intense scenes.

Minimum PC Requirements – Editor’s Pick

This budget Chronos mini configuration meets the minimum Exoprimal PC requirements as listed on the game’s Steam store page, and even exceeds them in some areas.

We think this PC can offer an experience comparable or a bit better than what is described in the Steam store page: about 30 FPS most of the time at 1080p and minimum graphics settings, with some dips in graphics-intensive moments.
Minimum Exoprimal PC requirements recommendation - Chronos Mini configuration

Recommended Exoprimal PC Requirements

CPU (Central Processing Unit)Intel Core i7-8700K / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X
GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)NVIDIA GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX 590
RAM (System Memory)16 GB
Storage50 GB available space to install
Operating SystemWindows 10 Version 20H2 (64 bit) / Windows 11
Recommended Exoprimal PC requirements available on Steam store page.

The recommended Exoprimal PC requirements, which you’ll ideally want to meet or exceed if possible for a better gaming experience than just over the minimum requirements will get you, are a bit harder to meet, but still not the most taxing of recent games out there. Plenty of budget-level PCs will likely be able to keep up and deliver decent performance.

The additional notes on the Steam store page explain that you can probably expect to see around 60 FPS in 1080p resolution at medium graphics settings, with possibility of some drops during graphics-intense scenes with these specs.

Recommended PC Requirements – Editor’s Pick

This version of our Azure model meets the recommended Exoprimal PC requirements from the game’s Steam store page.

This PC should be capable of delivering an experience similar to what is described on the Steam store page for the recommended PC specs: about 60 FPS in 1080p using medium graphics settings, with some dips in graphics-intensive moments.
Recommended Exoprimal PC requirements recommendation - Azure PC model version

For an even better experience than specifications just over the recommended Exoprimal PC requirements is estimated to get you, check out our more powerful model versions in the prebuilt PC section of our website, or configure a custom PC that exceeds the recommended requirements.

NVIDIA 4060 Ti: Two VRAM Options for this Lower Priced GPU

NVIDIA recently expanded their GPU line with the NVIDIA 4060 Ti. Here’s what we think about it so far!

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is one of the latest addition to NVIDIA’s line of powerful GPUs. The NVIDIA 4060 Ti GPU will have two versions, one with 8GB of VRAM and one with 16. Of course, the 16 GB version will pack more power, with double the VRAM of the other version. The 8GB version is available now, and the 16 GB version is expected in July, for an MSRP of $499.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti’s 8GB version is a current-generation graphics card that offers nice performance and features for gamers and professionals alike. NVIDIA announced that MSRP for this version of the GPU will be a step lower than the rest of the 40-series so far, at $399 for the NVIDIA 4060 Ti’s 8GB version.

It is powered by the ultra-efficient NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture, which provides its 4th generation Tensor Cores with huge increases in performance through DLSS 3 compared to brute-force rendering in compatible applications. The GPU also, of course, features NVIDIA’s ray tracing capabilities, allowing for realistic lighting and shadows in games and other applications.

In addition to gaming, the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB version can be used for basic content creation tasks. With its impressive specs and performance metrics, the NVIDIA 4060 Ti is an ideal choice for gamers, content creators, and professionals alike.

NVIDIA 4060 Ti 8GB Version Technical Specifications Overview

CUDA cores4352
Base Clock / Boost Clock2.31 GHz / 2.54 GHz
VRAM8GB GDDR6
Memory Interface Width128-bit
PSU system wattage requirement550 Watts
Full technical specifications for the NVIDIA 4060 Ti available on NVIDIA’s website.

It has great potential for gamers looking for decent performance on the latest triple A games, or high performance in esports games, as well as content creators who require some light graphics rendering capabilities for their projects. Whether you’re a gamer looking for improved visuals or a professional needing reliable computing power for basic rendering tasks, this flexible GPU has you covered with its wide range of ability.

NVIDIA 4060 TI MSI Ventus graphics card standing horizontally on a table.
NVIDIA 4060 Ti MSI Ventus graphics card standing horizontally on a table.

Is the NVIDA 4060 Ti’s 8 GB VRAM version enough for a current-generation card?

Whether 8 GB of VRAM will be enough for you all depends on what you are trying to do. We think there are plenty of games that PCs with this GPU will be able to handle just fine, with the support of a CPU and amount of system RAM that meets or exceeds the recommended requirements for what you’re trying to do. It should even be able to handle some video editing, if you are not working at very high resolutions or with many effects, and even some basic 3D modeling/rendering tasks.

If you’re planning to do some very VRAM intensive tasks, however, you might want to consider more power than the NVIDIA 4060 Ti’s 8GB version packs. For things like intensive 3D rendering, high-resolution video editing, or streaming the latest and most graphically intensive games out there, or anything else that calls for a very high amount of VRAM, a card with more VRAM than the NVIDIA 4060 Ti’s 8GB version may be necessary.

Tell us what you think!

The minimum Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC requirements are luckily not that steep. Many lower-spec budget gaming systems available these days and systems with older hardware will be able to meet or exceed these specifications, and thus, in theory, play the game. Keep in mind that with a PC just over these specifications, you’ll likely need to lower graphics quality settings quite a bit to maintain a reasonable FPS, and we recommend sticking to no higher than 1080p resolution.

Recommended Skytech PC for Minimum Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC Requirements

We hope this Shiva 2 configuration will be enough to get you through the game, but we expect you will be hit with some frame dips at times. With what we hear about the game’s real-life performance, we highly recommend more powerful hardware for an improved experience with this challenging to run triple-A title.Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC requirements. Full Star Wars: Jedi Survivor PC Requirements available on EA’s website

The recommended Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC requirements can still be met even with hardware that is a couple of generations old and, and not necessarily top-tier selections at that. That said, a lot of folks will want the most amazing graphics experience they can get and will want to push quality settings to the maximum without seeing FPS dips. We think it’s worth warning folks that we think even the recommended specifications set out here by EA won’t realistically be enough to handle that. So far, this game has been a bit challenging for even some of the most powerful of gaming rigs.

This version of the Skytech Gaming Nebula model definitely meets EA’s recommended Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC requirements. Despite the minimum and recommended Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PC requirements not being so tough to meet, anecdotally, a lot of folks are having trouble playing this game as smoothly as they’d like, even when they meet or exceed the recommended specs. Some players have done their best to change and tweak different settings to improve their performance. You’ll also want to double-check to make sure your graphics drivers are up-to-date, and that all unnecessary background applications are closed while playing the game. Here are a few settings-related fixes some folks have tried that gained them some FPS:

  • Set Shadow Quality to low
  • Set Foliage Detail to Medium or Low
  • Turn off Chromatic Aberration
  • Disable Ray Tracing

Ray tracing does make the game prettier, but it also is one of the changes that makes a bigger difference in the FPS you’ll be able to achieve. EA also be released a patch May 1st that will hopefully alleviate some of the performance issues folks are encountering. Here’s a quick comparison of the kind of difference you may see in FPS and visual quality with RTX effects on/off:

How to Clean Your PC: Spring Cleaning Edition

We’ll delve into the nitty-gritty of how to clean your PC setup!

Spring has sprung and it’s time to do some cleaning – not just for your home, but also for your PC setup! With constant usage and exposure, our computers can easily become cluttered with dust, debris, and even viruses and malware that can harm our system’s performance.

We’ll cover the importance of dusting to clean your PC internally, how to keep your computer virus and malware-free, as well as cleaning your monitor and keyboard. Maintaining a clean and organized workspace isn’t just aesthetically pleasing – it can also boost the lifespan of your equipment. Whether you’re a gamer, a professional, or just someone who uses their computer regularly, the tips and tricks in this blog will help you clean your PC and setup.

Clean your PC - A Skytech Gaming Geode PC with the glass panel open in preparation for cleaning.
Clean your PC – A Skytech Gaming Geode PC with the glass panel open in preparation for cleaning.

Clean your PC – Physical Cleaning

We recommend you clean your PC out to remove dust and debris as a part of routine maintenance, every once in a while. Maybe once every three months, or once every month if you happen to have furry pets who shed. Excess dust inside a PC can impede its cooling capabilities and get trapped in fan bearings, which interferes with their function. Fans may run louder than usual or not spin as well when dust is trapped in their bearings.

For cleaning dust and debris out of the inside of your PC, we recommend using a can of compressed air or a Datavac to blow the dust out. Please make sure your PC is turned off and unplugged before you open it up and while you clean your PC to avoid the risk of static damaging your PC’s components. We’d also recommend doing it somewhere where it is easy to clean up any dust that is blown out of your PC, like somewhere with a hard floor. Try to blow the dust and debris away from your components and outside of the PC, not further inside of it.

https://youtu.be/rAUdKdjHy5Y

You can get compressed air from Amazon or an office supply store. Compressed air is a really common tool used to clean dust out of PCs. Be careful not to spray yourself with it. The air that comes out of the can is highly pressurized. When you spray it directly at something, the dust kind of gets blown away in all directions. You can angle it a little to blow the dust off in a certain direction.

https://youtube.com/shorts/UOLSX0At6Fw?feature=share

The can will have instructions on it, and it’s pretty easy to use. You can get pretty close to the components with the start of the stream of it if you wish. Sometimes, it will come out as a liquid (it’s not water), but this liquid evaporates nearly immediately and won’t damage your components. It’ll look white and feel very cold. By the way, for your safety, please be careful not to point the can towards your eyes and spray! Also, please do not shake the can.

A Datavac is another great option to clean your PC. It’s a reusable device that can blow air into your PC to remove dust. These tools are specifically designed for this purpose, and we prefer and recommend them over compressed air. Though of course, some cleaning with compressed air is better than none! If you choose to get a Datavac to use to clean your PC, please also refer to its manual for proper usage instructions.

Clean your PC - Use a Datavac dusting tool to remove dust from inside your PC
Clean your PC – Use a Datavac dusting tool to remove dust from inside your PC

While your PC is already open for dusting is also a good time to check for and remove any existing pest infestations if necessary. We also recommend trying to keep the area around your PC free of things that would attract bugs if you can, as bugs can sometimes crawl into PCs and leave droppings or die among components and this can sometimes even cause those components to experience failure. Keeping your PC and the area around it clean will help reduce the likelihood of a PC pest infestation.

Clean your PC – Digital Cleaning

It’s also important to keep your PC digitally clean as well by avoiding and removing any viruses that may potentially cause issues in function. We recommend using Malwarebytes free edition as a malware scanner, and avast! free edition antivirus as a virus scanner. To be more thorough, it would be a good idea to disconnect from your internet while you do the scans. Some malware and viruses can reinstall themselves while they are being deleted by a protective program if a PC is still connected to the internet.

Another way to scan your system most thoroughly is to run these scans while your PC is booted into safe mode with no networking access. If you’d like to boot into safe mode to run those scans more thoroughly, here and some instructions for how to do so:

Please open your Windows start menu search bar and type in “msconfig”. Open the “system configuration” windows application that shows up in this search. Navigate to the “boot” tab. Under “boot options”, check the box that says “safe boot” next to it. Keep it on “minimal”, which should be selected as default. Click “apply” and “okay”. When your Pc starts next, it will be in safe mode with no networking. After you run the scans, you can reverse this process to boot your PC back up normally, by again opening this application to the boot tab, and unchecking “safe boot”, then clicking “apply” and “okay”.

Clean your PC - digital - How to apply safe boot from msconfig.

We also recommend running some simple debugging command prompts every so often to help prevent Windows OS corruption-related issues. Here are instructions for running those command prompts, if you’re interested in trying it:

Please open your Windows start menu search bar, and type “CMD”. Please right click on the “Command Prompt” application that will be found by this search, and select “run as administrator”. Once it opens (it will be a black screen with text), in this black window, please type “sfc /scannow”, and press enter. This is the system file checker, and it checks for corruption within Windows system files, and corrects them as necessary. This can take longer, so please be patient and let it complete.

After this task is complete, please type “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth” and press enter. This verifies the integrity of the Windows image file. Please allow this task to complete as well. This will be faster than the previous command, and should only take a few minutes.

Clean your PC - digital - sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth commands in cmd prompt window.
Clean your PC – digital – sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth commands in cmd prompt window.

After this is complete, please type “sfc /scannow” again, and press enter. After that completes, please type “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth” again and press enter. After that completes, please once again type in “sfc /scannow” and press enter. After that completes, please type in “sfc /scannow” one more time, and press enter. Please allow this to complete. The reason we ask you to repeat the same step a few times here is due to the nature of how these system utilities work. Thank you for your patience!

Once enough time passes, perhaps at every six month or one year mark, we also recommend doing a clean Windows reinstall via USB installation media on your system. Again, the reason we recommend this is to help prevent Windows OS corruption-related issues. Be careful to back up any files you want to keep before your OS reinstall, as they will be deleted.

Clean your Keyboard

There are a few great methods to clean your PC keyboard, and the ones you will be able to utilize will depend a bit on the tools at your disposal as well as the characteristics of your keyboard.

For any keyboard, you can easily remove dust and debris by taking a vacuum’s hose attachment and running it over the keyboard with the vacuum turned on. For best safety for your keyboard, unplug it from your PC and turn it off if it is wireless. This will allow the vacuum to suck up any dust pretty effectively.

Clean your PC setup - keyboard - Use a vacuum to remove dust
Clean your PC setup – keyboard – Use a vacuum to remove dust

Alternatively, you can also use a Datavac electronics dusting tool to blow the dust out and clean your PC keyboard, or a can of compressed air. If you can remove your keycaps, this will make it easier to remove more dust and debris from under them. You can also use a small brush to carefully sweep out any dust the vacuum or Datavac missed or can’t remove.

Keycaps are made from a variety of different materials. Most common keycap materials (like ABSS and PBT plastics, as well as silicone) are safe to clean in lukewarm water with a bit of hand soap, which is pretty easy and safe to do if they can be removed from your keyboard. Let them dry before you place them back on your keyboard.

If your keycaps cannot be removed from your keyboard, you can unplug your keyboard from your PC and gently wipe your keycaps with a microfiber cloth that is slightly dampened with a mix of water and a gentle household all-purpose cleaner. Apply the cleaning solution mixture to the cloth instead of spraying it directly on the keyboard. Again, for this wipe-down you won’t want the microfiber cloth to be dripping wet, as excess moisture can damage your keyboard’s components. Please let your keyboard dry thoroughly before plugging it in again.

Clean your Monitor

To clean your PC monitor screen, we recommend turning off and unplugging your monitor to reduce static during any further steps, then blasting it with compressed air to remove dust from the surface. If that’s not enough, you can also use a clean microfiber cloth to gently wipe dust off. Please be careful to only use light pressure, as too much pressure can damage the screen. Please use a gentle circular motion to wipe as opposed to scrubbing for the same reason.

Clean your PC setup - monitor - Use vinegar and water solution with clean microfiber cloth
Clean your PC setup – monitor – Use vinegar and water solution with clean microfiber cloth

If you’ve still got some stubborn dust and smudges that won’t come out with just a dry microfiber cloth, you can also lightly spray the microfiber cloth with a vinegar solution (a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 1 part water will work for this purpose) before wiping the turned off and unplugged monitor. Please do not soak the microfiber cloth or get it very wet. Only allow it to get a little bit wet with cleaning spray. Please also DO NOT spray cleaning solution directly onto the screen, as this can often lead excess moisture to run down and collect in spots where it could seep into vulnerabilities in the monitor’s housing and damage its components.

Use a second, dry microfiber cloth to gently clean your PC monitor screen of any excess moisture, as excess moisture sitting on the screen or running down it could damage it. If you wash your microfiber cloths in the laundry I recommend using a mesh laundry garment bag that is intended to be washed to protect them in, which also helps to keep them from leaving microplastics behind in the water when washed.

2023 PC Hardware Releases: Discover the Future of Gaming

There are some exciting new PC hardware releases on the horizon, and some have already arrived–here’s what we’re looking forward to getting our hands on.

2023 is shaping up to be an exciting year for gamers and PC enthusiasts alike. Mark your calendars for the latest PC hardware releases: NVIDIA and AMD are both set to release new models of GPUs (Graphics Processing Units), AMD is set to release more CPUs (Central Processing Units) in its 7000 series lineup this year, and Intel may even release their 14th generation of CPUs as well.

Many kicked off the year by showcasing their upcoming advancements at this year’s earlier CES conference. There are a lot of amazing new components coming out that will make it easier to take your gaming to the next level, and some are already here. Let’s dive into what these companies have planned and what these new releases have to offer.

More GPU Models Coming for NVIDIA’s 40 Series Lineup

NVIDIA has already released the 4070 Ti January of this year, and they have even more GPU releases in their 40-series planned for the rest of 2023’s desktop PC hardware. These upcoming graphics cards will also be powered by the RTX 40-series Ada Lovelace architecture, NVIDIA’s most advanced and efficient architecture yet, and feature DLSS 3 for improved frame rates.

NVIDIA is rumored to be preparing two more AD104 die GPUs (possibly future 4070 and 4060Ti GPU models) for production, and recently notified partners about plans to launch the 4070 in April. 4060 and 4050 GPU models may already be in development as well, based on an ECC listing filing, but this is also an early rumor. These graphics cards should offer a lower-priced entry to the 40-series line, bringing a balanced option of price and performance to their new generation of desktop PC hardware.

AMD Radeon 7000 Series GPUs, 7000 Series Non-X and X3D CPU Models

AMD has also made some big announcements at CES regarding the upcoming new CPUs of their 7000 series line.

Their Ryzen 7000 series non-X CPU models have just been released this January. These powerful processors offer high performance at a more affordable price and lower power draw (TDP) compared to their 7000X models in this line. The new Ryzen 7000 series non-X models from AMD are sure to be a hit with budget-conscious gamers looking for high-performance next-generation hardware without spending too much money. All three CPUs should deliver excellent performance for gaming. The 7700 and 7900 should perform well for streaming or multitasking with multiple applications at once.

At CES, AMD also announced three high-end 7000 X3D CPUs, which will utilize their groundbreaking 3D V-Cache and reach blazing fast clock speeds of 5.7 GHz. These processors just arrived late February 2023. V-cache tech does its magic by boosting the L3 cache capacity by 64GB with an additional SRAM chip sitting vertically on top of the CPU. This PC hardware benefit is mostly seen in gaming, not so much in productivity applications.

AMD released a powerful new GPU late last year to launch their 7000 series GPUs, and this year they are expected to add the more accessible 7600 and 7600 XT to the series lineup possibly in Q2 (April-June). There are also rumors of a flagship RDNA 3 GPU that will utilize several multi-cache dies to boost performance expected to launch in 2023. With all these exciting developments, it’s clear that AMD is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of gaming PC hardware.

Cheaper Intel 13th-Gen CPU Options and Possible Launch of 14th-Gen

Intel just expanded their 13th-Gen Raptor Lake desktop CPU lineup with new models, ranging from budget to high-end. All these new processors utilize the LGA1700 socket, feature lower power draw, are unlocked, and support DDR5 and DDR4 RAM.

The i9-13900 is a more power efficient variant of the original 13900K, and the 13900F is similar but with no integrated graphics. The i9-13900 has base and boost clock frequencies that are a bit lower than its predecessor, but only use 65 watts base and 219 watts in turbo. Intel also added an i5-13500, i3-13400F, and i3-13100F to their PC hardware lineup, with a similar theme: slightly lower clock speeds than their K and KF versions in a much more power efficient package.

Intel took efficiency to an even further level with six T series processors that will all be unlocked and come with integrated graphics processing ability. The most powerful chip in this series, the 13900T, has a maximum clock speed of 5.3 GHz, with a base power consumption of 35 watts that maxes out at only 106 watts in turbo. Base frequencies for this line are kept very low. These CPUs are all a bit cheaper than their K series predecessors.

Intel may also release its 14th-Gen Meteor Lake CPUs, and with them a more advanced 7nm manufacturing process to drive more performance. However, 14th-Gen may not make it this year, and may arrive in 2024 instead. We’ll see how things progress for Intel as the year goes on.
