The year is almost to a close, but we still have a few great game releases coming up before it’s over. We’ll discuss what games we’re looking forward to this month here.

This selection from the November 2023 PC game releases is a spin-off based on telling the story of a character from the MOBA game League of Legends. Follow Nunu and Willump through their adventure in the Freljord to search for Nunu’s mother. Available on the Steam store, Epic Games store, and GOG.com.

This one of the November 2023 PC game releases is a sequel that be expected to deliver more of the same good things from its predecessor, with more depth and refinement. This series is inspired by tabletop adventures and seeks to recreate that feel on screen. In For the King II, you can fight against the tyrannical queen of Fahrul solo or in a party of four players. Available on the Steam store.
Yet another installment in the Call of Duty franchise is set to be one of the November 2023 PC game releases. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III’s release date was announced by their team’s staff this past August, including some details about changes in the game. This game, as can be expected, picks up after the story of Modern Warfare II. Captain Price and Task Force 141 return to face ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov’s forces. Available on the Steam store and Battle.net.

This adventure, set in the Persona universe, follows members of the Phantom Thieves on their journey through a land under tyrannical rule. An enigmatic revolutionary named Erina offers them a deal for their help. This one of the November 2023 PC game releases will be available on the Steam store.

This pick of the November 2023 PC game release crop is inspired by the legend of Robin Hood, and in it you can lead a rebellion against the Sheriff of Nottingham in solo or co-op mode with up to 4 players. The dreaded blue screen of death is a sight we all hope to avoid. See how to resolve common blue screen errors here!
Please note: Currently, this knowledge base is still being developed. We will continue to add more links to specific error code guides as they are completed. In the meantime, you can try the steps we recommend taking in a broad approach here to tackle many potential issues that could cause common blue screen errors.
A blue screen of death can be a scary sight to behold. Thankfully, there’s no need to panic right away. Some blue screens will just be one-time flukes, but if they keep recurring, there are steps you can take to try to stop them. If you have a Skytech Gaming PC, and following these steps doesn’t resolve your blue screens, you can contact our customer support team for more help.
General Tips for Blue Screen Issues
Try to remember what you were doing when the blue screen(s) show up. Were you playing a particular game? Were you turning on the PC after it was off for the night? What was going on just before the blue screen occurred can tell you something about the cause in some cases. If your PC is a Skytech Gaming PC and you need to contact our customer support for help with blue screens, please let them know what you were doing with the PC just before they occurred.
Always keep your important files and data on your PC backed up regularly in a separate drive/cloud service. This will help protect you from data loss in the event of sudden errors.
7 Troubleshooting Processes We Recommend to Attempt to Resolve Blue Screen Issues
Windows Repair Tools
Some blue screen errors can be caused by Windows operating system (OS) file corruption. Windows OS file corruption will occur over time, and can also occur due to issues with OS update installation. You can start troubleshooting your blue screens by using the Windows Repair Tools through Windows PowerShell in Administrator mode to see if they are able to resolve the issue.
Open the Windows start menu and search for “command”, then run the Command Prompt application as an Administrator. It will open a window with a black background and white text.
In the Command Prompt window, type “sfc /scannow” exactly as written here without the quotation marks included, and then press enter on your keyboard. This is the system file checker, and it checks for corruption within Windows system files, and corrects them as necessary. This can take longer, so please be patient and let it complete.
After the previous task is complete, type “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth” exactly as written here without the quotation marks included, and then press enter on your keyboard. This verifies the integrity of the Windows image file. Please allow this task to complete as well. This will be faster than the previous command, and should only take a few minutes.
After that is complete, please type “sfc /scannow” again, and press enter on your keyboard to run the system file checker again.
After that completes, please type “DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth” again and press enter to verify the integrity of the Windows image file again.
Next, please once again type in “sfc /scannow” and press enter to run the system file checker again.
Then, please type in “sfc /scannow” one more time, and press enter to run the system file checker one last time.
The reason we are asking you to repeat the same step a few times here is due to the nature of how these system utilities work. This process checks Windows system files against an online image, and sometimes the tools will only partially replace some files during one use. By forcing the tools to check multiple times, we can better ensure they will replace any and all incorrect or corrupt system files. This is a procedure used here by our repair crew to run these utilities when working on machines.
Please restart your PC after everything completes, and test to see if your issue occurs again. If the above steps did not stop your blue screen errors, you can continue to do more troubleshooting that may resolve the errors.
Check Device Manager for Unknown or Uninstalled PCI Devices
Devices with uninstalled drivers or that are unrecognized by your computer can cause blue screen issues. You can identify and install these devices to potentially resolve the issue.
Open your Windows start menu and search for “device manager”. Open the device manager control panel application.
In your device manager window, search for any devices which have a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle next to them. This indicates a device that is unrecognized or does not have drivers. An unknown device will also be labelled as “unknown device”.
Right click the device in the list and select “Update Driver Software”
Select “search automatically for updated driver software” and allow Windows to try to search for and install the drivers.
If this does not work, you can try using Snappy Driver Installer to install the missing drivers. The steps for this are detailed in the next section below.
If that does not work either, you can try to install the driver manually. If the device is unknown, it will be difficult to search for a driver online as you do not have the device name.
Right click on the unknown device in device manager and select “properties”. In the “details” tab, select “Hardware Ids” from the drop down list under “property”. You should see the once empty field under this fill with some IDs.
Right click the top ID and copy it.
Search for the ID online. You may be able to identify the device, and then go to the manufacturer’s website to download the drivers you need. You may need to know what version of Windows you have to select the correct driver.
Update Drivers
Some blue screen errors can be caused by issues with drivers. Make sure that you check whether your PC’s drivers are up to date regularly.
You can update drivers individually, or you can use a software to update multiple drivers at once. One we recommend using that is free to download is Snappy Driver Installer.

Scan for Malware and Viruses
In some cases, viruses or malware can cause blue screen errors. We recommend scanning your PC for viruses and malware regularly. We recommend using built-in Windows Defender to scan for viruses and malware.
To be more thorough, you can run scans while your PC is booted into safe mode with no networking access. Some malware/viruses can reinstall themselves while they are being deleted by a protective program if a PC is still connected to the internet.
Please note: While you’re booted into safe mode, some third-party apps may not work (for example, aftermarket audio software). Your resolution may also be lower than usual. This should resolve when you start your computer again outside of safe mode.
To boot your PC into safe mode:
Open your Windows start menu and search “msconfig”.
Open the “system configuration” Windows application as an administrator.
In the “boot” tab, under “boot options,” check the box that says “safe boot” next to it. Keep it on “minimal”, which should be selected as default.
Click “apply” and “okay”.
When your PC starts next, it should be in safe mode with no networking. After you run the scans, you can reverse this process to boot your PC back up normally, by again opening the “msconfig” application to the boot tab, and unchecking “safe boot”, then clicking “apply” and “okay”.
Try Reseating RAM
Issues with your PC’s system memory (RAM) can also be a potential cause of blue screen errors. RAM needs to be seated properly to work. RAM can sometimes come loose from its socket, or not be fully properly seated, especially if a PC is moved. Reseating your RAM can better ensure it is securely socketed in your motherboard.
Please make sure that the PC is turned off and unplugged first, and then try the following steps:
Open the glass or metal side panel so that you can see your components. You’ll want to open the side that the top side of your motherboard will be facing, as opposed to the side it is mounted to, as your RAM sticks will be located on the top side of your motherboard, where your CPU is also socketed and your CPU cooler is mounted.
Identify your RAM modules. There should be one or more vertical sticks to the right of the CPU cooler. These are the RAM modules.
Check if there are locking tabs on the top or bottom of the motherboard slot that one RAM module is seated in. Press down on the top and/or bottom locking tabs to release the module. Once it is released, you can gently remove it from the slot.
Insert the module back into the same slot it originally was in. Slide the module into the bottom of the slot first, ensure the center notches align, press the module in this side with your thumb until you hear it snap into place, then press the top of the module into the motherboard slot until you hear another snap. Whether you have one or two locking tabs, you should hear 2 clicks when a module is inserted securely into its slot, one for each side.
Check whether your RAM module is securely inserted by giving the bottom of the RAM stick a gentle pull outwards. It should stay put securely inside its slot. If it comes loose at all, try removing the module and inserting it again.
Repeat these steps for each RAM module your PC has. Then, test to see if a blue screen error occurs again.

Memtest86 is a program you can download for free and use to detect potential problems with your RAM modules. The test will take a while to run, and will show a “PASS” or “FAIL” screen at the end depending on what it finds, which is a pretty clear indicator of whether it detected a problem or not.

If your PC is a Skytech Gaming PC, save a picture of your Memtest86 results and hold onto it. Then, if you need to contact our customer support team for help resolving your blue screen issues, please send them the results of your Memtest86 test.
Reinstall Windows
As mentioned earlier, Windows operating system file corruption can be a potential cause of blue screen errors. In some cases, the operating system files can be corrupted in ways that the Windows Repair Tools aren’t able to fix. You can do a clean reinstallation of Windows via a USB flash drive to help resolve OS corruption issues when this happens. A clean reinstall also helps rule out potential finicky driver issues by isolating your system’s software from all previously installed drivers.
Please note: Reinstalling Windows will also delete other data on your hard drive. Please back up any files that are important to you on a separate drive from the one your operating system is installed on if possible to avoid loss of important data.

The steps to reinstall Windows 11 are very similar, you will just need to make sure you download the installation file for Windows 11 instead of 10 and follow all the other steps the same way. Advice for Specific Blue Screen Error Codes
There are actually many different reasons why a PC might run into a blue screen of death, and some errors have specific codes they will show you on the screen that can tell you a bit more about the issue.
If your blue screen has one of these error codes listed on it, you can read the specific article for that error code and try the potential solutions explained there. Many of the most common blue screen error codes can be caused by issues with drivers, hardware, or the PC’s Windows installation.
Blue screen error codes are written in both a brief string of words/abbreviations, and a hexadecimal code.
Common Blue Screen of Death Error Codes:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0x0000000A)
Most likely due to RAM corruption or RAM issue.
MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (0x0000001A)
Most likely due to RAM corruption or RAM issue.
DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION
Can be due to motherboard or CPU mathematical mismatch.
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Can be due to RAM corruption or RAM issue. Something is writing in an area it should not be writing in, due to an issue with mathematical direction.
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Can be due to motherboard or CPU mathematical mismatch.
CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED
A process in the operating system was closed before it should have. Most likely a driver issue, or a Windows issue. Try reinstalling drivers and possibly Windows.
DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
Something disconnected or turned off before it should have; similar to the above error code.

Mortal Kombat 1 is about to hit its full release on September 19th, and is already available for early access for those with the Premium Edition. To get in on the high-intensity fighting action on your PC, you’ll need to know first if your gaming machine can handle the heat. Read on to learn what it will take to run Mortal Kombat 1 on PC.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available now for pre-order through the Steam store and the Epic Games store.
To run this game at a minimum, these are the requirements given, and it won’t take the beefiest or newest computer in the world to meet them. Of course, you may not be able to turn up the graphics settings very high at just the minimum needed to run the game, and you may not see super high framerates.

This version of our Nebula model PC, available on our website, meets the minimum Mortal Kombat 1 PC requirements, and exceeds them moderately, especially for the GPU. We think that you’ll be able to play Mortal Kombat 1 on this machine. There aren’t performance estimates given on the Steam store page to explain what you can expect to see at minimum specs.
For better performance and the ability to push your graphics settings higher, you’ll want to at least meet or exceed the recommended PC requirements, which requires a little more power. Older generation hardware will do, but it will need to be at least mid or high tier in strength. Interestingly, the recommended requirements don’t call for any additional RAM over the minimum, so this game may not rely as heavily on RAM.

A Blaze 3.0 version currently available in white on our website fits the recommended Mortal Kombat 1 PC requirements, and even outdoes them a bit for CPU and RAM. We estimate that you may be able to achieve a satisfactory experience in Mortal Kombat 1 with this machine. There are no performance estimates for the recommended specs either on the Steam store page.

We take a look at the Lies of P PC requirements here–learn if your PC is ready to take on this soulslike!
Lies of P is an upcoming soulslike PC game release set for September 19th, with a heavy Bloodborne influence and an interesting story premise based on a classic tale: the puppet Pinocchio. The protagonist in this game is indeed said to be a puppet made by a character named Geppetto, true to its fairy tale inspiration, though the Steam store description promises the game takes the tale and “turns it on its head.” The setting speaks to this a bit, as it is set in the dark and elegant Belle Epoque era of the late 19th century in France. Lies of P will be coming to the Steam store and Xbox Gamepass on its launch date.

According to the minimum Lies of P PC requirements available via Steam, this game shouldn’t take very powerful hardware to be able to play. However, there are no performance estimates on the Steam store page for the game for these minimum specs.

This version of our Chronos Mini model PC meets the minimum Lies of P PC requirements, and even exceeds them in the areas of CPU and GPU. We think this PC should be strong enough to play Lies of P, according to the minimum requirements on Steam’s store page. Though, we also believe you’re likely to have amore satisfying experience with the game and use higher graphics settings if you can meet at least the recommended requirements.
Interestingly, the processors for the recommended Lies of P PC requirements are the same as those that meet the minimum requirements. Based on this, it seems like this game will lean more heavily on RAM and graphics cards to power up its performance, instead of the CPU. There are also no performance estimates on the Steam store page for this game using the recommended specs, either.

There are some promising titles coming out for this batch of September 2023 PC game releases. This month looks to be packed with everything from high-action shooting games to intense fighting in Mortal Kombat 1.

This selection from the crop of September 2023 PC game releases is a soulslike with a unique fantasy premise: the story draws from the tale of Pinocchio. Though the character you pilot does not appear to be wooden, they are indeed said to be a puppet, created by Geppetto. This interpretation of a classic story will pit you against frightening monsters and deceptive individuals along the way.
For racing game fans out there, especially arcade style racing, this set of September 2023 PC game releases has something in store for you: NASCAR Arcade Rush.
This game won’t confine you to just a circle for a track. The Steam store page features screenshots of sprawling, winding tracks, with a much more fantastical looking approach than a realistic one.

We break down the Immortals of Aveum PC requirements here so you know if your system is ready to dive in!
Immortals of Aveum is an action-adventure shooter game that promises an exciting, immersive experience. Developed by Ascendant Studios and published by Electronic Arts, Immortals of Aveum boasts of an engaging storyline, incredible graphics, and unique gameplay mechanics that are sure to captivate.
Along the way, you will have to battle tough enemies and solve puzzles to progress in the game. What sets Immortals of Aveum apart from other games is its unique shooting action via magic casting.
Immortals of Aveum is available for pre-purchase on the Steam store and Epic Games store. It is scheduled to release on August 21st.

This triple-A action game will take a moderately powerful PC to run, at a minimum. These requirements are designed to give you the bare minimum needed to run the game. A note on the Steam store page under these requirements estimates that meeting these requirements should be enough to play the game at about 60 FPS most of the time in 1080p resolution.
We think this version of our Nebula model PC adequately meets the minimum Immortals of Aveum PC requirements, and even exceeds them a bit in a couple of areas. We estimate that this PC will be able to deliver performance similar to what is listed on the Steam store page for meeting these specifications: about 60 FPS most of the time in 1080p.
Meeting the recommended specifications for this game instead of just the minimum will allow you to achieve a better gameplay experience, with higher resolution or FPS. The estimated performance for the game for these specifications as listed on the Steam store page is to be able to play at about 60 FPS most of the time in 1440p resolution.
This configuration of our Azure 2 model is one PC we think is a good fit for the recommended Immortals of Aveum PC requirements. This PC exceeds the recommended requirements in a couple of areas a bit. We think it will be capable of delivering the performance estimated on the Steam store page for meeting these specs: about 60 FPS most of the time in 1440p.

Intel 14th Gen drops and some changes for their CPU lines are on the horizon. Learn everything we know so far here!
Intel announced 14th Gen would be coming in 2023, and recently confirmed that the expected launch will be “in the second half of 2023”. Official word on release dates are still not more specific than that, though there is speculation from some sources in tech news that they may reveal some of the first 14th Gen CPUs at Intel’s Innovation event that typically occurs in September or October. This year, it is planned to take place on September 19th-20th at the San Jose Convention Center in California.
Based on how their releases tend to roll out, it’s likely the higher performing chips of Intel 14th Gen will be revealed first, with more mainstay and budget CPUs trickling in during 2024.

Will there be desktop CPUs in Intel 14th Gen?
There’s a focus on laptop CPUs for their Meteor Lake branded line in Intel 14th-Gen, and it’s anticipated that if there are to be desktop processors in this launch, that they will be branded as a “Raptor Lake refresh”. The future 15th Gen Arrow Lake is expected to be the full desktop CPU line replacement for Raptor Lake, and is anticipated in 2024.
Will I need to upgrade my motherboard for Intel 14th Gen?
You may not necessarily need to upgrade your motherboard to install a desktop CPU from the upcoming Intel 14th Gen releases. This “Raptor Lake refresh” in Intel 14th Gen is expected to be the last step of CPU upgrades seen for the LGA 1700 socket, and Intel will likely shift to CPUs for the LGA 1851 socket afterward.
Thus, these Raptor Lake refresh desktop CPUs should be compatible with older motherboard models that use the LGA 1700 socket. If you currently have an Intel 12th or 13th Gen CPU in your motherboard, you’re likely good to go. This also means DDR5 RAM is not necessarily a requirement for using these processors, and you can still use DDR4 RAM with them despite having a latest-gen CPU.
In situations like this, however, please note that a BIOS update may be required. Please check the product page for your motherboard on the manufacturer’s website once these CPUs are out for more precise information about upgrading and what you’ll need to do.

Intel 14th Gen will introduce a new naming system
With the new processors in Intel 14th Gen also comes a new naming system for their CPU product lines going forward. They’re doing away with the “i-” prefixes, for one thing. Also, even though we know it’s their 14th generation of CPUs, they will not be including references to “14th Gen” as part of the official branding for them.
One of the bigger changes is that they will be separating CPUs into three tiers: “Intel” CPUs, “Intel Core” CPUs, and “Intel Ultra” processors. Within each tier, there will still be different numbered versions to choose from with increasing performance as the number designation increases, which will just use the “3”, “5”, “7” or “9” as an indicator. We’re guessing the highest performers per generation will typically come from the Ultra line, just based on its name.

This long-awaited RPG is finally fully released! Make sure your rig is ready and meets the Baldur’s Gate 3 PC requirements.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is finally here in full, and many of us are more than ready for the wait to be over–but what about our computers? If you didn’t start playing in early access, you may be wondering if your computer can handle Larian’s amazing RPG experience before you buy. We’ll break down both the minimum and recommended Baldur’s Gate 3 PC requirements here.
For an optimal experience, we recommend a PC that at least meets, or hopefully exceeds, the recommended PC requirements. If you meet just the minimum requirements, you should still be able to play, but you’ll likely need to keep the graphics settings on the lower side. The 150 GB installation size is a bit hefty, so you’ll need quite a bit of space.
Thankfully, the minimum requirements are not that high for this game, making it more accessible to gamers on a budget or with older rigs. The game calls for a CPU and GPU that are generations behind the latest hardware releases for its minimum specs, and only 8 GB of system memory.
Minimum PC Requirements – Editor’s Pick
This version of our Nebula model PC meets the minimum Baldur’s Gate 3 PC requirements, and even exceeds them a bit. We think this PC is a decent budget fit that meets the minimum specifications, though of course it is not powerful enough to outdo the recommended specifications. This Nebula should be capable of offering a decent experience with this game on lower graphics settings and 1080p resolution.
Meeting or exceeding the recommended Baldur’s Gate 3 PC requirements should get you a better experience with the game than just the minimum requirements would, and you should be able to pump the graphics settings up a bit more. By how much will depend on how greatly your rig exceeds the recommended specs. We recommend slowly increasing your settings until you notice an issue or you’re dissatisfied with your FPS. There’s no mention of expected FPS or recommended graphics settings to use with the minimum and recommended requirements on the Steam store page.
Recommended PC Requirements – Editor’s Pick
This version of our Blaze 3.0 model PC meets the recommended Baldur’s Gate 3 PC requirements, and exceeds them a bit in a couple of areas. We estimate that this PC is capable of delivering an enjoyable experience with Baldur’s Gate 3 based on it exceeding the recommended specs for CPU and GPU. You should likely be able to use higher graphics settings than low with a PC of this build, and you may be able to set the resolution to 1440p (given your monitor also supports that).

For this set of August 2023 PC game releases, we have an array of different genres and playstyles sure to satisfy a variety of gamers. With indie gems, to triple-A action adventures, to long-awaited RPG franchise installments, there is a lot to pay attention to. Here we’ll discuss the August 2023 PC game releases we’re most excited to try.

Baldur’s Gate 3, which has been in development and early access on PC for quite some time, will finally be released in full on August 3rd for PC, and September 6th for PS5. This game is part of the critically acclaimed Baldur’s Gate RPG series, and it promises to deliver even more exciting gameplay and features.
The game features turn-based combat, and centers player choice through many aspects: detailed character customization, a wide variety of spells and skills, and numerous dialogue options in encounters, enabling players to create their path.

The storyline will be another highlight of Baldur’s Gate 3. The game’s epic tale takes place in the Forgotten Realms, a land filled with magic, fantasy, and lore. The storyline is expected to be rich in depth and complexity, featuring a cast of compelling characters and challenging quests that will test players’ skills.
Baldur’s Gate 3 features over 17,000 variations in its endings achieved through its interactive storyline and wide variety of player choice. And that’s a lot of variations. For a full playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3, players can expect to invest at least 75-100 hours according to Larian.
This one of August 2023 PC game releases is an installment in the much-loved indie series Hammerwatch. The Hammerwatch franchise has garnered an impressive following since the release of the original game in 2013, with its addictive gameplay mechanics and retro graphics.

Hammerwatch 2 offers significant improvements and notable additions that have evolved the gameplay experience to one that can be called an action RPG. The game features similar top-down, hack and slash mechanics as its predecessor, but with a more expansive world and additional action RPG elements. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is an upcoming game developed by Team Reptile. It has a unique concept, a captivating art style, and what looks to be a good balance of exploration and parkour mechanics. The game takes place in a vibrant and fully explorable futuristic city that serves as the canvas for the player’s graffiti taggings. In addition, the game features a unique trick system that rewards the player for chaining together tricks as you skate, dance, bike, or run across the city. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk has some standout elements such as its music choice and voice acting, which adds depth to the overall experience.

The game’s art direction is heavily inspired by graffiti art culture, giving it a unique and edgy look. There aren’t many games that can be compared to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. The closest would be the critically acclaimed game, Jet Set Radio and its remake Jet Set Radio Future, which also featured a heavy focus on parkour and graffiti. This game looks like it is something of a “love letter” to the Jet Set Radio games.
Immortals of Aveum is an upcoming action-packed, first-person adventure game developed by Ascendant Studios and published by Electronic Arts (EA). With its breathtaking graphics, compelling story premise, and immersive gameplay mechanics featuring shooting and magic, this game is already generating massive excitement.

As a newly appointed guardian, Jak, you will embark on a journey to save Aveum from the tyrant of Rasharn–known as Sandrakk–who intends to gain control over magic, and thus, the world. The players must battle, solve puzzles, and gain magical abilities in their efforts to win the Everwar.
This heavy hitter of the August 2023 PC game releases promises to deliver a gaming experience of epic proportions. It’s estimated to be about 50-60 hours long–five times the length of the last Armored Core series installment. For those who may not be familiar with the franchise, Armored Core is a mecha combat video game with its first installment released in 1997 by FromSoftware (the same company that is also behind the Soulsborne games).

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world that is now ruled by powerful corporations, each vying for control of the world’s remaining resources. Players take on the role of a mercenary taking missions from various factions to claim resources and survive in this harsh world.
Players can choose from a vast array of weapons, parts, and modules to create their perfect machine. They can also upgrade their mecha over time by acquiring new parts and modules, allowing them to continually fine-tune their mecha to meet the challenges they face.
One of the indie gems of the August 2023 PC game releases is Sea of Stars. Developed by Sabotage Studio, Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG set in a beautiful world that is inspired by the classics. Sabotage Studio is no stranger to the genre, having previously developed the critically acclaimed game, The Messenger.

This game echoes classics like Chrono Trigger as clear sources of inspiration. Sea of Stars even features some music by Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda. Players can expect a rich and engaging story, a vast open world with plenty of secrets to discover, and engaging combat mechanics that allow you to customize your party with many unique members and find stronger combinations over time.

Diablo IV Season 1 is here! Start off on the right foot with our guide.
With the release of Diablo IV season 1: Season of the Malignant, fans have an exciting gaming experience to look forward to. This new season will feature exciting new challenges, a new campaign, seven new legendary aspects, unique items, cosmetics, and exclusive rewards for players to earn. We’ll be discussing some of what you can expect this season, tips to optimize your gameplay, and how to earn special rewards.
The season will last for about eleven weeks, ending on October 9th, during which players must complete various objectives to earn rewards. To participate in the season, players must create a brand new character, as existing characters in the Eternal Realm cannot be used. Your new character for Diablo IV season 1 content will need to be created on the Seasonal Realm. However, your new character can benefit from some of the progress you’ve made on your most-progressed Eternal Realm character.
In order for your Seasonal Realm character to benefit from the progress you’ve made on your other character in the Eternal Realm, it is necessary to log in to your main Eternal Realm character at least once in the period between July 18th and when you create your Seasonal Realm character.
Transferring progress from your Eternal Realm character to your Seasonal Realm character will help optimize your gameplay. You can even progress a little farther in the Eternal Realm for additional gains. Next, we’ll discuss some of the progression you might want to accomplish to transfer over to your Seasonal Realm character.
Unlock your horse
If you haven’t already, unlock your horse through a side quest you get through the main campaign on your Eternal Realm character. Once you unlock it on one character, you’ll be able to use it on any character, including your Seasonal Realm character. Having a horse from the start on your Seasonal Realm character will give you a huge advantage.
You’ll need to complete the campaign once to access the seasonal content anyway, so you may as well pick up your horse along the way. Once you complete the campaign, you can encounter Malignant enemies in the open world even in the Eternal Realm, but you’ll only have full access to the seasonal mechanics and rewards in the Seasonal Realm.
Explore your map
You can also give your Seasonal Realm character a head start by exploring more of the map on your Eternal Realm character. Map progress can be carried over to your Seasonal Realm character, which will boost your renown and make it easier to navigate. If you really want to go all in, you can clear the entire map with your Eternal Realm character before making your Seasonal Realm character.
Find Altars of Lilith
In addition, unlocked Altars of Lilith and the renown you get from finding them can also carry over to your Seasonal Realm character from your Eternal Realm character. You might want to look up a guide to help you find all the altars if you’re going for full completion, as there are a lot to hunt for.
Note: Softcore and hardcore modes do not overlap in these kinds of shared progression mentioned above. For example, if your main Eternal Realm character was made in hardcore, and you are planning on playing softcore for Diablo IV season 1, you will not be able to carry over this shared map progression or your collected Altars of Lilith.
Diablo IV Season 1 Features
Malignant Hearts
Season 1 brings a host of new features to Diablo IV, including exclusive rewards. Seasons also come with a story that is unique to that season, and season 1’s theme is Malignant infection.
One of the biggest changes from the base game is the addition of the Malignant Hearts system, which empowers players with powerful abilities and augmentations. These Malignant Hearts will be season exclusive items that can be socketed into specific slots on your gear pieces.
Players can acquire these Malignant Hearts by completing specific challenges throughout the season. Malignant Hearts can be obtained during Diablo IV season 1 by killing Malignant monsters and capturing their hearts, or by conquering Malignant Tunnel dungeons.
When completing a Malignant Tunnel, be sure to bring a crafted Malignant Invoker with you. Use it on the overgrowth at the end of the tunnel to summon an elite Malignant enemy. You can craft invokers that correspond to the specific colors of the different hearts to increase your chances of getting what you want.
Types of Malignant Hearts:
Vicious Hearts, for orange sockets, which give offensive ability increases.
Brutal Hearts, for blue sockets, which give defensive power-ups.
Devious Hearts, for pink sockets, which give utility buffs.
Wrathful Hearts, which can be placed in any socket color.
You can salvage the Malignant Hearts you don’t want at Cormond’s Workbench for Ichor that is used to craft new hearts or Malignant Invokers.
Challenges and Rewards in Diablo IV Season 1
To make the most of season 1, players must complete various challenges in the Season Journey. Some of the challenges include completing dungeons, slaying specific monsters, completing quests, and more. By completing objectives, players will earn unique rewards such as reward caches, Legendary Aspects, and Battle Pass Favor.
Players can expect to face tough monsters and difficult dungeon bosses. To overcome these challenges, players must upgrade their gear with Malignant Heart powers and utilize their character’s unique abilities to maximize their potential. It’s also helpful to work in teams with other players.
Battle Pass
The Diablo IV season 1 Battle Pass is also live as of the start of the season. You can access it in the menu under the “Season” tab. There will be 27 free tiers, featuring cosmetics, titles, and Smoldering Ashes that can be used for various character boosts. If you purchase the premium Battle Pass, you’ll have access to 90 tiers of cosmetics, titles, emotes, and premium currency to unlock.
The Ultimate Edition of Diablo IV comes with an accelerated path to unlock the seasonal Battle Pass, by skipping 20 tiers, as well as activation of the premium Battle Pass, and you can still upgrade to it if you purchased a different edition. The Digital Deluxe Edition also unlocks the premium Battle Pass, but without 20 tier skips.
